Air France has officially announced a significant upgrade to its in-flight services by introducing free ultra-high-speed Wi-Fi across its entire fleet starting from 2025.
The airline, in partnership with Starlink, will leverage low Earth orbit satellite technology to provide passengers with fast, reliable, and secure internet access globally, including in remote areas where connectivity has traditionally been a challenge.
This new service is expected to revolutionise the in-flight experience for passengers.
Whether flying domestically or internationally, travellers will be able to stream movies, play online games, and stay connected with their personal and professional networks throughout their journey. The high-speed internet will ensure a seamless online experience, enhancing customer satisfaction during flights.
Air France further clarified that passengers will be able to access this Wi-Fi service through their Flying Blue account, which serves as the airline’s frequent flyer programme.
For those who are not members of Flying Blue, the airline will offer the option to sign up during the flight, allowing easy access to the internet.
The rollout will not be limited to the airline’s long-haul aircraft.
Air France confirmed that its regional fleet will also benefit from the introduction of this high-speed internet, ensuring passengers on shorter routes enjoy the same connectivity benefits. However, during the transition period, the airline will provide temporary alternatives for in-flight internet services to ensure uninterrupted connectivity.
With the move, Air France aims to provide a superior travel experience, meeting the growing demand for in-flight connectivity as passengers increasingly rely on internet access for entertainment, communication, and work while on board. This new development also positions the airline as a leader in the aviation industry by offering comprehensive internet services at no additional cost to its passengers.
