Eastern Equatorial State MPs tabled that the plan to annex part of South Sudan to Kenya started in 27 January, 2023 joined meeting of Turkana County Government Officials and Kenya Interior Cs Kithure Kindiki
In the press released on Friday by EES MPs, the MPs condemn intention encroachment plans made by Kenya Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki in the meeting.
Eastern Equatorial State legislators said the 11 kilometres road construction up to Nakodok, Kenya creating Sub-County, Kenya creating Military recruitment base and heavy deployment of Police Reservists on the said area is in South Sudan soil
Magwi Township Member of Parliament Julius Moilinga call upon Govt of Kenya to immediately withdraw it’s military forces from South Sudan’s territory.
Member of Parliament representing Torit Hon. Samuel Loti said the encroachment is because government of South Sudan have neglected Country’s southern borders, that’s why Kenyans and Ugandans can easily walk crossing borders
On other part, Kenya denied claims encroaching South Sudan’s territory arguing that it respects the boundaries of its neighbors and ready to solve the arising misunderstanding.

In the same statement Eastern Equatorial State (EES) accuse Uganda People’s Defense Force for encroaching on Magwi, Ikwoto and Budi counties which is South Sudan territories.
MPs said after doing research noted that Ugandans Army are carrying out illegal mining of minerals, constructing roads, marking trees, drilling boreholes in Owingkibul and others areas within South Sudan territory
Solving
Michael Makuei, South Sudan government spokesperson said, the SS government and Kenya have agreed to form a Joint Technical Team to resolve the border dispute at the Ilemi Triangle.
