DCI Investigates Fraudulent Job Advertisements Targeting Job Seekers, Ads claim NACADA is hiring

The DCI Serious Crimes Unit has launched an investigation into a series of fraud cases involving fake job advertisements that are being spread through various social media platforms. These fraudulent ads falsely claim that the National Authority for the Campaign against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) is hiring individuals for various vacant positions.

In this elaborate scam, unsuspecting job seekers are deceived into submitting their applications to a bogus email account by a specified deadline. Once the fraudsters obtain the applicants’ personal information, they impersonate NACADA Human Resource personnel and engage in communication with the victims. They guide the individuals through a process that ultimately requires them to make payments of no less than Sh 1,350. After the payment is made, the fraudsters block further communication, leaving the victims defrauded.

DCI says they have made several arrests in an effort to dismantle these criminal syndicates. However, the DCI continues to receive numerous complaints from victims who have fallen prey to this confidence trick.

The DCI is urging anyone who has been victimized by this scam or any similar fraudulent schemes to come forward and report the incident at the DCI Headquarters Serious Crimes Unit, located at Block B, room no. 55. Victims are encouraged to provide statements to the authorities, who will offer further assistance in addressing the situation.

DCI has also issued a warning to the public, advising job seekers to be cautious and verify the authenticity of any job advertisements before applying. On the hand NACADA have not issues any statement regarding the advertised jobs and Kenyans complains.

DCI have take strong position to apprehend those involved in these fraudulent activities and urges the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious job offers or scams anonymously through their official #FichuakwaDCI contact 0800 722 203
