DCI launched manhunt for suspects involved in 20th March 2023 violence

Directorate of Criminal Investigations have launched investigations into violence committed during Monday’s March 20th 2023 demonstrations

DCI says, criminals took advantage of Monday protests and were captured by camera destroying people’s properties, attacking members of the public and security officers on duty

Criminals taking advantage of demonstrations led to unknown value of properties destroyed, police protecting life and properties suffered injuries, gang coordinated with riotous attacked officer stole firearm magazine loaded with 15 rounds of 9mm calibre in Embakasi East

DCI caution citizen that while exercising their rights, these rights should be exercised with civility and should not infringe on the rights of others.

For unlawful act, detectives are on manhunt for the suspects whose images were captured destroying people’s properties, engaging with security officers and attacking members of the public

Alternatively, the suspects are required to present themselves at the Serious Crime offices based at Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) headquarter along Kiambu Road or at their nearby police station before close of business today for further action, DCI said.
