Nyandarua – The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), through its Central Regional Office in Nyeri arrested Luke Nyasangah a DCI Officer based at Ngano Police Station in Nyandarua County, for demanding a Kes 10,000 bribe from a local resident.

According to the EACC, the complainant had lost Kes 115,000 in an M-Pesa fraud incident and needed DCI assistance to recover the funds.

The DCI officer, Luke Nyasangah told the complainant that the bribe payment was mandatory in order to facilitate the tracking of the fraudsters.

The suspect has been taken into custody at Charagita Police Post and is pending further processing by the anti-corruption agency.

The EACC’s swift action in arresting the errant DCI officer demonstrates its commitment to tackling corruption and upholding ethical standards within the law enforcement agencies.

The arrested serves as a stark reminder that abuse of power and extortion will not be tolerated in the force, and that the anti-corruption watchdog remains vigilant in its efforts to root out graft in the public sector.
