GHash Mining Scammers ‘Sim Swap’ Arrested in Kahawa 1,336 sim cards and gadgets confiscated

Detectives from the DCI Headquarters executed a successful joint operation leading to the arrest of four individuals involved in a GHash mining scam.

The suspects, identified as Otieno Dismas Ongoro, Robin Mwika, Wycliff Otieno Olal, and Michael Otieno Kaumba, were apprehended in Kahawa.

Following their arrest, the suspects were booked at Muthaiga and Pangani Police Stations. A search conducted revealed a staggering total of 1,336 SIM cards in their possession.

1,235 Safaricom sim cards, 80 Airtel SIM cards, and 21 Telkom SIM cards. In addition, law enforcement discovered a tablet, laptop, and eight mobile phones during the search.

The investigation is ongoing, with detectives actively pursuing more suspects connected to the GHash mining scam.

The four arrested individuals are set to face arraignment on Monday as law enforcement continues its efforts to dismantle the intricate network involved in this fraudulent activity.
