In a twist of fate, a group of Al-Shabaab militants attempting to plant an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) along a road in Garissa County met a deadly end when the IED exploded, claiming the lives of two militants and leaving others with life-threatening injuries.
The karma struck the militants as they targeted innocent civilians and police officers using the road, with the explosive device delivering swift justice to the Shabaab. The aftermath of the explosion painted a gruesome picture, with scattered limbs, fragments of the human digestive system, and tattered pieces of the militia’s uniforms strewn across the scene, revealing the devastating impact of the blast. Additionally, a battery and some wires believed to be part of the explosive were found at the site.
Border patrol officers from a nearby police camp swiftly responded to the incident along Amuma-Ruqa Road, confirming the early morning tragedy. These officers have now initiated a clearance patrol of the area and are actively pursuing the remnants of the heavily annihilated militant group.
