Airports & Airstrip upgrading, 07 August 2023 – the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) Board, under the leadership of Chairman Hon. Caleb Kositany, embarked on an inspection tour of the Angama Airstrip in Maasai Mara. The primary objective of the visit was to oversee the ongoing works aimed at upgrading the facility. The strategic upgrade is set to directly connect foreign tourists to the world-renowned Maasai Mara game reserve.
As part of the board’s familiarization program, the KAA team is undertaking visits to various airports and airstrips managed by KAA in the western region. The tour serves to keep the board abreast of ongoing projects, address existing challenges, and identify opportunities for further improvements in the region’s aviation infrastructure.
The upgrading of Angama Airstrip is expected to not only bolster tourism in the area but also enhance the overall travel experience for visitors to the Maasai Mara. The KAA Board’s proactive approach in monitoring and supporting airport development initiatives underscores its commitment to promoting the nation’s tourism industry and economic growth.
