Kithure Kindiki Flags Off Armoured Personnel Carriers to Boost National Security

Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Hon. Kithure Kindiki at the Port of Mombasa, ceremonially flagged off 10 Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) destined to enhance the capacity of frontline officers in combating crime across the country.

These Armoured Vehicles have been specifically designed to assist security teams in navigating areas affected by landmines and to provide enhanced protection for security personnel operating in high-risk environments.

The deployment of these Armoured security vehicles aims to bolster security measures, particularly in the Eastern and Coastal regions of the country, where the presence of Al Shabaab insurgents poses a significant threat. Additionally, they will be instrumental in addressing the challenges posed by banditry in the North Rift region, where criminal elements have been terrorizing residents.

The acquisition of these APCs marks a significant step in the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen national security and ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens.
