In a bid to boost sports infrastructure in the county, the Deputy President of Kenya, Rigathi Gachagua, today inspected the construction of the state-of-the-art Moi Stadium in Embu. The stadium, which is currently 65% complete, is expected to be fully completed in just six weeks’ time, according to the contractor.
During the inspection, Gachagua expressed his satisfaction with the progress made so far, noting that the new stadium will greatly benefit the local community and the country at large. He further promised Embu residents that the government will consider holding the upcoming national holiday, Madaraka Day, on 1 June at the newly constructed stadium.
The Deputy President’s visit to the stadium site was also an opportunity to assess the quality of work and interact with the workers who have been tirelessly working to ensure that the project is completed on time. Once completed, the Moi Stadium will not only provide a world-class facility for sports enthusiasts but will also create job opportunities for the local community.
The government has prioritized the development of sports infrastructure across the country as a means of promoting talent and driving economic growth. The Moi Stadium in Embu is a testament to this commitment, and the government remains committed to delivering on its promises of providing quality sports facilities to all Kenyans.
