Motorists owners from 1st October, 2022 will be required to get new number plates for their vehicles

The new generation number plates will have a QR code, a hologram, NTSA serial number and the Kenyan flag

National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) says the replacement of existing ones to start on 1st October 2022.
The plates are linked to the vehicle chassis number with several inbuilt security features that are easily identifiable to law enforcement and comply with international standards

These came moment after Government validate new NTSA inspection laws that will ensure all vehicles older than 4 years to undergo regular inspections, the new NTSA laws also increase inspection charges and gives NTSA powers to employ third parties to do vehicles inspections duties.

In the wake of today Government have introduce new design of Vehicles , Rickshaws and Motorcycles Number Plates containing securities features to curb vehicle theft.

To get the new number plate motorists owners are required to avail themselves at nearby NTSA office with motorists documents, original Identify card and Ksh3000.
