A multi-agency security team in Isiolo County intercepted a vehicle along the Moyale-Isiolo road on Monday, September 25, 2023, and recovered explosive-making materials.
Two suspects, Joel Ntonja and Jeniffer Kananu, were arrested in the vehicle.
They led the team to arrest their partners, Musa Mohamed and Purity Kendi, who had more IED-making items.

- 50 detonators
- 6 rolls of 250 meters each
- 10 cartons of explogel explosive of 25kgs each
- A 6kg gas cylinder
- 1 solar battery
- 9 bags of hydrated lime of 25 kgs each
- 4 sacks of white crystals all suspected to be explosives
- 3 sacks of black substance suspected to be carbonate
The four suspects are currently being held in police custody as investigation continues.
