Notorious Break-In and Diesel Syphoning Artist Mukhtar Suleiman Apprehended in Wajir

Wajir, Kenya – Mukhtar Suleiman, a 35-year-old notorious for his break-in activities, has been apprehended by officers from Wajir Police Station following a daring attempt to steal from a telecommunication company facility.

The arrest occurred early on Friday, August 2, 2024, after officers acted on a tip-off.

The incident took place in the Halane area during the early hours of the morning. Officers responded promptly to the intelligence they received, catching Suleiman and his accomplices in the act of siphoning diesel from the facility.

While Suleiman was apprehended on the spot, his accomplices managed to escape into the darkness, evading capture and leaving Suleiman to face the consequences alone.

Upon securing the scene, the police recovered significant evidence of the crime. They found three full 20-litre jerrycans, one half-full 20-litre jerrycan of siphoned diesel, 14 empty 20-litre jerrycans, and a siphoning pipe. These items were taken into evidence, further implicating Suleiman in the attempted theft.

Suleiman is currently being held at Wajir Police Station as police process his case and prepare for his arraignment. The police have launched a search for his accomplices, who remain at large.
