Two more individuals connected to the brutal murder of a young man on Thursday, March 7th, 2024.
After a brief interrogation of two key suspects initially apprehended in relation to the heinous crime, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) based at Starehe have made two additional arrests.
The two newly arrested individuals are Malcolm Omondi Odhiambo, the owner of MJ Investments shop, and Justus Muema Mutungi, the proprietor of Neema shop in Dandora Phase IV.
These arrests came about as a result of restless investigations carried out by the sleuths, which led them to Malcolm’s business premises.
At Malcolm’s premises office detectives discovered the mobile phone belonging to the victim, which had been robbed by the perpetrators of this evil act.
Further inquiries revealed that Malcolm had subsequently sold the stolen phone to Justus, who was found in possession of it at the time of his arrest.
In a major breakthrough, a total of 95 assorted mobile phones, believed to be stolen property, were confiscated from the shops owned by the suspect. The recovery of such a large number of phones strongly suggests the existence of a wider criminal network involved in the theft and illegal trade of mobile devices in the area.
The arrests of Malcolm and Justus are seen as a significant step towards unraveling the details surrounding the murder case and bringing the culprits to justice.
The local community, which had been gripped by fear and anxiety in the wake of the tragic incident, can now take some comfort in knowing that the authorities are making progress in their investigations.
However, the police have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals they may encounter, as the fight against crime is an ongoing battle that requires the cooperation and support of the entire community.
