President Ruto and Deputy Gachagua Commission Kimugu Water Project in Kericho County

Kericho County – President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua visited Kericho County today to commission the Kimugu Water Project, an ambitious initiative aimed at addressing the increasing water demand in the region. The project is a collaborative effort between the National and County Governments to enhance water access for both urban and rural communities.

Water demand has been rising significantly due to population surges, urbanization, and the growing needs from agriculture and manufacturing sectors. In response to these challenges, the authorities are partnering to find innovative ways for funding and effective water management.

The Kimugu Water Project is expected to supply water to over 200,000 households in the Belgut, Kipkelion East, and Ainamoi areas, significantly improving water access for the residents. This development comes as a welcome relief to communities that have faced water scarcity issues for years.
