Safaricom Sacco, a tier 1 market leader in the SACCO industry located in Nairobi, is seeking to hire a qualified Senior Accountant to join its team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of duties and responsibilities, including:
• Preparing and submitting monthly investment proposals
• Monitoring existing investments and advising on appropriate action
• Monitoring cash flow and advising on investments
• Preparing monthly financial reports and analysis
• Filing Sasra monthly returns
• Preparing weekly reports
• Preparing and filing Unclaimed Financial Authority Fund returns
• Approving transactions done by Assistant Accountants and Accountants
• Preparing monthly cash flow projections and ensuring healthy working capital
• Monitoring spending, costs, and budgets
• Performing monthly revenue assurance and generating a revenue assurance report
• Generating the trial balance on a daily basis and reporting on any inaccurate ledgers
• Loan disbursement within the SLA
• Ensuring efficient flow of information to and from members and other stakeholders
• Maintaining the SACCO’s image
• Promoting an environment founded on Safaricom SACCO values of customer focus, integrity, reliability, and innovation
Qualifications for the role include:
1. A degree in a business-related course from a recognized institution
2. A holder of CPA Final certification and ICPAK membership
3. At least 5 years’ relevant experience in the financial services industry
