Sleuths successfully recover stolen goods worth Kes10 million

Crime Research & Intelligence Bureau recover stolen cooking appliances. The appliances which were reported stolen while in transit from the port of Mombasa to Malindi, have now been successfully recovered in the Saika area within Nairobi County.

The joint efforts of detectives from both Nairobi and Kilindini were instrumental in the operation.

The stolen goods, with an estimated value of over Sh10 Million, had raised suspicion as it was believed that the driver, in collaboration with others, had diverted the container and failed to deliver the goods to their intended recipient.

The delivery driver had claimed that the truck experienced mechanical problems along the busy Mombasa-Malindi highway, particularly near Kikambala.

However, the situation took a turn when the consignee reported the disappearance of the goods to the Kilindini Police Station, prompting an official investigation. The investigation eventually led to the successful recovery of the shipment in Saika, which is located off Kangundo road.

During the operation, one suspect, identified as Francis Victor Karua Gathii, was apprehended and is currently in custody. He is assisting detectives with further investigations into the incident.

The operation was carried out by the diligent efforts of sleuths from the elite Crime Research & Intelligence Bureau, based at Nairobi Area.
