Surviving the Storms of the Times A Journey from 1900 to-date

Imagine being born in 1900. At 14, World War I starts, with 22 million people dying by the time you’re 18. At 20, the Spanish flu pandemic hits, killing 50 million, but you survive.

By 29, there’s a global economic crisis causing inflation, unemployment, and hunger. At 33, Nazism rises. At 39, World War II begins, taking 60 million lives by the time you’re 45.

At 52, the Korean War starts; at 64, the Vietnam War begins and ends at 75. People born in 1985 might not realize their grandparents faced wars and tough times.

Now, we’ve been in a pandemic for some years, losing friends and relatives, feeling scared and tired. Despite today’s challenges, our ancestors went through even tougher times and came out strong.
