Multi-Party System Backfires, Affecting Common Citizens

The multi-party system, which was originally created to limit the power of the president, is now being used by politicians to control elected leaders and exploit common citizens.

Under the multi-party system, elected leaders are supposed to represent the interests of their region. However, in practice, they are often beholden to party leaders who control access to resources and opportunities. This can lead to elected leaders neglecting the needs of their regions in order to please party leaders.

Currently, a Member of Parliament (MP) may be pressured by the party leader to support a development project that is not in the best interests of the MP’s constituents. Or, an MP may be prevented from speaking out against corruption or other wrongdoing by the party leader.

In addition, party leaders often use their control over elected leaders to extract bribes and other favors. This has lead to corruption and waste of public resources.

The multi-party system has also made it difficult for the government to function effectively. With so many different parties vying for power, it can be difficult to pass legislation or implement policies. This has lead to gridlock and inaction, which it harms the country’s economy and its citizens.

The multi-party system is not inherently bad. However, it is important to ensure that it is not used to exploit common citizens or to undermine the democratic process.

Possible Solutions

• There are a number of possible solutions to the problems caused by the multi-party system. One solution is to reform the electoral system so that it is more proportional.
This would make it easier for smaller parties to win seats in parliament, which would give them more power to check the power of the larger parties.

• Another solution is to strengthen the independence of the judiciary and the media. This would make it more difficult for politicians to use their power to control elected leaders and exploit common citizens.

It is important to remember that the multi-party system is a tool that can be used for good or for evil.

Political parties is funded by elected leaders and using the money to fund party manifesto, events, court cases and other related needs but it is possible people will fund terrorism in the name of funding political party.
