Google in their world famous media YouTube to introduce handle for the members to easily find and connect.
YouTube Team says they are introducing handles to all YouTube registered clients with channels and those that are joining YouTube, the handle is different with YouTube channel’s username.
On the statement, YouTube Team says if you had personalized your YouTube channel URL the team will automatically reserved the username for you, the personalized channel username will be your handle. It is noted that you can change handle to your preferred name, no restrictions.
For example, your youtube channel URL is youtube.com/taarifaleo your handle will be youtube.com/@taarifaleo. If the handle you preferred is taken don’t worry, be creative, add underscore symbol or digits. The YouTube url and handle can be different, but it’ll direct members to the same page.
In addition, YouTube said they’ll remove the limitation of having 100 subscribers to be able to change channel url and handle. Also, if the [@] handle you wanted is taken you can use underscore symbol and numbers until you get your preferred handle
In the coming weeks on YouTube media you’ll be able to share either url or handle to direct viewers to your channel to watch your videos, this will simplify links between content creator and his/her followers
The handles will also weed out online fraudsters syndicates that flimflam YouTube members by impersonating the content creator
Because these handles are unique, it will be easy to confirm if you’re engaging with the right person, a brand or a company.
